Welcome to Physical Education at Glencoe Primary School where movement, teamwork and personal growth come to life!

Physical Education plays a vital role in building confident, capable and active learners. Throughout the year, students participate in a wide range of engaging programs designed to develop skills, resilience and a lifelong love of physical activity.

In Term 1, students dive into League Tag and begin their Winter Sports Training, developing skills in Volleyball, Soccer, Netball and AFL. Term 2 brings our exciting Winter Sports Carnival, Cross Country and inter-school selections, and Lightning Carnivals for our Year 5/6 students. In Term 3, we focus on Interschool Cross Country, Athletics training, our much-anticipated Athletics Carnival, and the Interschool Carnival. Term 4 sees our Year 6 students experience Sailing, along with Interschool Cricket training, selections and our Interschool Cricket Carnival.

At the heart of our program is a strong commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and fun environment where every child can thrive. We encourage enthusiastic participation while also providing opportunities for students to excel in ways that suit their individual strengths, whether through leadership, mentoring, organisation, setting up and packing away equipment, recording results or supporting their peers. Physical Education is a space where every student can find their role, build confidence and experience success.

We proudly weave our school values into every lesson: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe and Caring, and Be Your Best. Through sport and physical activity, students not only develop fundamental movement skills and teamwork, but also resilience, sportsmanship and a sense of belonging that inspires them both on and off the field.
